In WHY ACCESSORISE?
We all want to be unique rather than ordinary. No one wants our home looking like everybody else's. To create your own personal flare we suggest you add personal decor and accessories, that you have picked out. Just because you are you. Items brought back from a trip or a unique piece found at Möbler. In the Scandinavian countries we create our uniqueness and character by mixing new with old. That is the prettiest and easiest way to get a look filled with character.

In WHY ACCESSORISE?
Interior designing is an art that reflects personal affinity, certain ideas and lifestyles that people engage themselves in enthusiastically. What we put and how we put our home together, from the large sofa to the smallest ceramic accessories, speaks volumes about us as individuals. Accessories showcase the essence that someone live by, offering a glimpse into who we are. Expressive, ordinary or unique. We believe our decor set the flair, the You in your home. Secondly interior accessories bring out happy and creative thoughts in people. Likewise, choosing the right accessories and décor can create the right mood and energise the space we spend our time.

In TIPS - Mix new with old
As mentioned, there are not a single home in any blog or magazine in Scandinavia that does not bring in some extra soul with items that has a unique story to tell. See the perfect mix above. Modern sofa and rug, combined with lovely table of reclaimed wood, surrounded by vintage chrome chairs (we love chrome). - Vintage pieces takes away the predicability of a space; it surprises and astonishes. - Vintage pieces creates a feel and look of uniqueness, the owner knows he/she is the only one with that specific design, we feel special. - Purchasing vintage is also the most sustainable choice of furniture. 1/1000 of the energy is required to refurbish and send items to Asia, compared to create a new piece of wooden furniture. Imagine that kitchen without that stunning leaf table of 100 years. The contrasts in this kitchen are perfect. Back home we mix old authentic designs in combination with modern, either designer pieces or IKEA. You can always find items with a story to tell, vintage pieces certainly adds an instant Scandinavian character to your home. We would never stress to furnish a space with only our items, but add a few items, to lift the level of character. See below; instead of a common bed side table, use an antique chair. At Möbler, we focus on vintage and antique Scandinavian pieces - bringing a touch of character that equally reflects the well-worn charm of Nordic homes. Sourced and handpicked in Sweden by us, sisters Emelie and Ellen, each Möbler item holds it's own history - and no two pieces are the same. In Misconception of Scandi
Here are a few No Nos that we beg you all to follow, if you want to create a nice homely Scandinavian inspired home: 1. Do not buy things that are made to look old – Buy authentic vintage pieces. As in anything in existance, reach full authenticity in the whole spectra of life, should be the main goal. Shabby Chique was a long time very popular, people sanded, scratched with chain, polished with coffee, all to make new things look old. That trend has fortunately since long left. 2. No Replicas. There are many, especially mid century designer items that are unfortunately being replicated. Most of us would lot buy a fake designer bag, so lets implement that also with furniture. It is predictable and it takes away the beauty and the feel of being unique. Secondly, do you really want to own 3. Its not all about pine panels and pastells. Do mix textures and colors. The beauty in Scandinavian lies in the focus on contrast. Contrast in textures, materials and colors. 4. No built ins. We know its very big here, and we understand the practicality. But if you want to create a real Scandi home, thats not the way. No one we know have built ins, apart from warderobes. Please use open shelving instead, most things we have inside the cupboards are very pretty. If not, use baskets. This will add much character. 5. More to come! Let us know if you agree with this. What is your take on the misconception? If you want advice: Upload a photo, together with your question, and we will be right with you - Helping you in creating the right Scandinavian look.

In Misconception of Scandi
A Scandinavian home is anything but predictable. We believe the style has become misperceived and many believe that clean lines with a pale color pallet and little usage af accessories and decor is the way. We firmly say no! Many Interior Design firms are separating the different styles into: Industrial/Modern/American Classic/Scandinavian/Minimalistic etc. One of the most popular ones is Scandinavian. However, we feel it is our obligation to clarify what really represent the style from our home country. As it is it evidently heavily misconceived. We get sad when we see interior design companies showing projects in Scandinavian style. I see a huge misconception of what true Scandinavian interior design is. Can you see what is wrong here? While most of us tend to associate the Scandinavian style with light, bright hues and clean lines - there are more facets to this well-loved aesthetic than meets the eye. We often see products designed and made with little love and materials hardly suitable for furniture. And the color schemes used here are not at all what we use back home. - What do you think If we would have chosen a lighter rug? - If we would have chosen a small side table instead of the side board in the lower right corner? And a small table lamp on top. - A larger wooden coffee table. - A pouf next to the coffee table. - Lighter curtain. - Wall art that shows the personality of the owner. - Other cushions, less patterned. - Cloths - A higher side table or console to the right of the TV. With beautiful decor on top. - More plants/cut flowers - A floor lamp in the right corner. - No built in ceiling light, use accent lighting and as little ceiling light/florescent light as possible. - The armchair is cool, the sofa works too. But we would have chosen something that creates a contrast. Too similar. To mention a few. We hope Möbler can change the misconception and help customers create homes with character. In INTRO to Scandinavian
We want you to browse around and get familiar to this homely Scandinavian style, as many call Hygge, or Lagom (more on those later). That specific style that we at Möbler are working hard to spread to the world. First and foremost we need to stress that there isn’t ONE Scandinavian style, but several. The more decorative and traditional Gustavian design is just as Scandinavian as the scaled back mid-century design. See the style most of us want, and that everyone can get. You just need to have a clear vision and stick to it. And please do not be confused of what interior design firms tell you is Scandinavian, it is often inaccurate. In INTRO to Scandinavian
We have often received the question from customers, and media representatives - What is realy Scandinavian interior styling, for us Scandinavians. And we have ourselves questioned the huge misconception spread in this part of the world, of what really represents the interiors of our home country, Sweden. A Scandinavian home is anything but predictable. We believe for many non-Scandinavians the style has become misconceived and many believe that clean lines with a pale color pallet and little usage af accessories is the way. We say - it is absolutely not that simple! Here in our FORUM will give you a serial of explanations of this world renowned interior phenomenom – Scandinavian style. All you need to start when creating your Scandinavian Home. First and foremost we need to stress that there isn’t ONE Scandinavian style, but several. The more decorative and traditional Gustavian design is just as Scandinavian as the scaled back mid-century design. However, the mani focus remains - make it cosy and homely, or as we say "Mysigt".
